How can i quit smoking?!

Question: i am just quoting what someone said :GET A GIRLFRIEND WHO HATES IT and ask all your smoker buddies to QUIT with YOU. Eventually you'll cut down to a cigarette a day, to a drag a day, to a drag ever so rarely.

Or make a new addiction, like eating JELLO! Just buy the store packets and make it, makes a lot and it's delish

Although you can get the most help from nicotine replacement aids like patches or gum, you actively have to WANT to quit - the willpower bit. Without willpower, you'll fail. Do you really WANT to? :o)

Use the patch system. You start with 21's got to 14's and then to 7's. I have been off 7's for a bout 2 days. Keep trying even if you are not successful first. I fall off the wagon but I am ready to quit this time. I just hope it lasts.

Go to your doctor and get some help and support. Maybe you need NRT (nicotine replacement therapy)
If you really want to you will.

Cold turkey, then exercise, a lot. You wont want a cigarette after exercising.

go hang out with somebody dying of lung cancer that should help

You've just got to make your mind up basically. You may want to read up on the dangers http://www.nicocure.com/articles/rss.php...

get some nicorette gum and try that and when u get addicted to that, then, call Dr. Phil

Don't buy cigarettes any more but also try niquitine products

Do it for you! No one else! I used Wellbutrin and my hubby used Chantix. We started jogging together and that helps. Plus we put the money that we would have spent on cigerettes aside and we will have a NICE vacation this summer!

Well it really depends on how long you have been smoking for... the longer you have been smoking the harder it will to stop.

I used to smoke a little while ago and did at LEAST 6 a day for a month and a half. It's a good amount of time to get me hooked.

Well I decided I really needed to stop before it got out of hand. So I started smoking less a day and then smoke that same amount every other day (and it is a gross process because you get these terrible headaches if you don't smoke but you HAVE to go through it if you want to stop) and then smoke maybe once every other day until finally you don't even think about it anymore and you just don't need it as much.

Keep yourself busy and you'll have a better time forgeting about it.

I hope it helps... it helped me... Also if there are other people around ask them to help you out too.

cold turkey is the best way to quite, that's how i did it about 2 years ago.it will be the hardest thing you will ever do ,but it is Worth it. look at the money you will save plus you might live a little longer. it i said that it takes 3 day for the nicotine to get out of your body ,the rest is all in the mind .the way i quite was my dad had a heart attack and i was going to the hospital a lot ,( bad scenes) , i had a pack of cigarettes with me all the time as a crutch only but did not smoke them .

get nicotine patches or that gum stuff that makes u quit

I used the gum. Don't buy the flavored kind, just get the old nasty tasting regular stuff.

I call it the "Hour of Change"
choose any waking hour, say 2-3pm and declare yourself officially a non smoker during that hour, from now on. every day when that hour comes along you make your declaration and stick to it. its ESSENTIAL to say to yourself OUT LOUD:
"I am officially a non-smoker between 2-3pm and I feel good about it"
then don't smoke for that one simple hour. thats it. as soon as you master that hour, which is easy, you add another hour. hour by hour you replace a bad habit with a good feeling. its not long before you want to 'feel good about it' all the time.
1 down, 23 to go. no pressure, no drugs, no gum, no seeds, no alternate bad habits, no niccin-out, no cost.

I use the Hour of Change for other stuff too.

do what they used to do, smoke a whole pack in a row, fast, trust me, you wont want a cig for a while, and when you do, do it again. that will make you sick almost to the point of vomiting, then you will almost dispise the site of them. the best way i found a cure for smoking, bar none!, it has worked for me and many of my close friends.

Perhaps you should join a Quit Smoking Clinic.
