You may have an addictive personality and that's why your doctor won't prescribe anything for the pain. Ibuprofen, in itself is not addictive but th process of puttng the pills in your mouth, swallowing them and believing they'll work seems to be the problem.

Anything can be psychologically addicting. Especially a drug, even if that drug has no physical addictive qualities. Although very very few do. And for some reason I doubt Advil is one of them. But I
