The burn will probably sting like this for the next 24 hours. Run your hand under cool running water. Get either an ice pack or get a freezer bag and put some ice in it. Put a little bit of water in the bag as well and tie it up. Rest this on your hand throughout the day or when you go to bed so that you can sleep. Take some ibuprofen for the swelling and some panadol for the pain. The coolness of the ice should reduce some of the blistering that may occur. If you do end up with a blister, try not to pop it, you'll put yourself at risk of infection. Clean the burn when it stops stinging with soap and water and keep it clean. =]

Burns hurt. Tylenol for the pain. Follow the directions on the bottle if you decide to take it.

Please go to the doctor if this burn is worse than any burn you've ever experienced. The doctor may give you pain meds for it.

Don't put the ice directly on the skin. Put a thin towel over the skin.

Ice can damage skin, too. Especially skin that is already damaged (like from a burn).

This sounds extremly weird, but toothpaste. Its a really good remedie for burns. Good luck

The best home remedy around is soaking the burned part in water with dissolved epsom salt. It works so well that you don't even get a blister for the burn!

i would see a doctor... everyone thinks that burns aren't serious.. then they numb and you can't feel them at all... well i got a 3rd degree burn from a muffler and i couldn't even walk on my leg, and my b/f wouldn't take me to the doc because he said i was fine- this was when all of the staph infections was going around and i was so scared, so my old manager took me to the er and sure enough 3rd degree infected burn.... take ib profin for pain, and do NOT put neosporin on it!! it's like a thick gel that helps infections, but actually the gel helps hold the bacteria in from the burn.
