I got hit in the mouth with braces on, tooth really sensitive!!?!

Question: Me and a friend were playing around and he punched me in the mouth. This was the a few days right after I started to wear my elastics so my teeth were really tender and sore. After he punched my tooth it has been really sensitive to cold things. Drinks mostly and when I breathe in. Its a sharp freezing pain that goes away right when i lick my tooth. My gums were also bleeding after i got punched, the hit wasn't that hard though. Can anyone help me out?

With braces, your teeth are slowly moving, so when there is impact where its moved all of a sudden- I imagine it would hurt. It should go away soon. Take a pain reliever. I guess if its really bothering you and its really abnormal, you should probably go to your ortho.

You need to make sure he didn't crack, break or dislodge any teeth - that discomfort you are feeling is a sign there is something wrong.

i rammed into my sister w/ braces and it was bad 4 my mouth 4 a few days but it cleared up. so see how it goes then if theres no improvement then definately see the doctor or dentist or orthodontist

Call the dentist share your story and he will either say come in for an x-ray or say what the problem is good luck ;)
