My mouth is VERY sore from retainer! What can ease the pain?!

Question: I had a retainer about a month ago and threw it away at the mall. So, last week, I got an impression and today I got it. Now, it feels VERY uncomfortable. I know it is normal, because my teeth aren't use to it and it's moving my teeth. But it hurts so bad, I can't eat anything without aganizing pain. What will help the most?

Hi.......Try some ice, maybe wrapped up in a wash-cloth.. Hold it on your mouth, jaw, this with ibuprofen will help to ease the pain.. I had a tooth pulled which wasn't very comfortable but Ice helped my mouth pain along with ibuprofen.. I have abused my body over the years, pain and I have become good friends, I found simple ways to ease it or eliminate it..
Rest will help too, might seem corny but drinking from a straw helps allot, I did allot of that too..:-)) Good Luck, hope you feel better..

Take off retainer Shhh dont tell the docter

tyanol and ibprofin(spelling is bad sorry) switch off every 2 hours

cold water dap the top to ease it and just dont think of it

oragel and advil

Ibuprofen and swishing your mouth a couple times a day with warm salt water. Trust me, those two things will make a big difference.

Ibuprofen might help. It relieves more muscle/inflammation pain then paracetamol. It will get better after a few days. If the pain is really just far too severe, you probably need to see a doctor.

Ambesol its in the baby section.. for teething pain it numbs the gums its perfect for braces/retainer pain. You just rub it right on the part of the gums that is hurting.
