If you want to and can legally, sure. It's your body so don't let others influence you. It's your choice, a high pain tolerance is the key to almost everything if you really want to do it. Keep in mind that after getting this done your tongue swells for four days to a week, liquid diet, very limited choices to eat for a while and you have to be extra careful with your hygene as far as your mouth is concerned. Know the necessary do's and don'ts going into it and take care of it if you do it. By the way, you would get more appropriate and knowledgable answers with this under tattoos.

If you want it..... then do it.

it looks slutty

No, tounge piercings can really hurt. They are very likely to be infected, and you will be in alot of pain and have trouble eating.
There will be alot of swelling.
-When you're older, and have kids, you're likely to regret it.
Personally, i don't see the point of poking a hole in your tounge.
Piercing your ears are okay, but tounge is going too far.

don't do it

Be sure when you're older, that you won't regret it. When you're 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 -- you'll still be happy you got it.

no it doesnt, not if done by apro

don't do it,

Go for it...if you don't like it then you can always take it out.

don't do it, it breaks the enamel down on your teek and you get cavities and loose your teeth, and plus guys will think it is for sucking dick, unless you wanna *********

I wouldn't, personally, but of course its your choice. You could get infected, and you have to watch what you eat for a few days after you get it done. However, if you really wanna do it, and think you will be able to take care of it and tolerate everything immediately after, do it. Individuality is awesome.

I don't know. Wouldn't it be hard to eat things? Stuff would get stuck on your tongue and you could get infections.

Find someone you know who has had it done and ask questions! It's not at all pleasant. You're tongue will swell up huge, the pain will pulsate through it for at least a week, you won't be able to swallow so you will drool, you will have to eat food that's the consistency of baby food for a while. But it's pretty cool once that's all in the past!

You should be able to handle it. They say the needle is so thin that you only feel a little pinch. The worst part would be after words when your tongue swells up. Other than that it shouldn't be so bad.

NO!!! I've pierced almost everything and never had a problem I went and pierced my tongue and after 2 days of not being able to talk or eat I looked at it in the mirror and my tongue had completely turned bright green and swelled and started bleeding from the peircing. It was TERRIBLE. I love tongue piercings but they are not worth losing your tongue. Trust me do anything but that!!!

I think it would be a bad idea. The tongue is likely to hurt a lot more than your belly button, and if it gets infected it will REALLY hurt. Whatever it is that you're putting in your tongue will also bump against your teeth and chip them.

Plus it's tacky, lol

hmmm... I think for one it depends on what kind of girl you are. Alot of time a pierced tongue (at least in a guys perspective maybe even girls) means that you are a bit of a tramp. But also piercing your tongue can lead to you not being able to taste as well since it will damage taste buds and I cant remeber some of the other things it can cause you would have to do more research. Although none of them are serious still if you like taste of food that might suck to lose that taste. But also if you dont want to be looked at as a tramp that might be another.

I am not trying to sound mean about the tramp deal either but thats just how they are viewed.

Otherwise if you still want one just think hard about it first I dont know if the hole in you tongue heals like holes in your ears

Something most people don't consider is the tongue ring's effect on your teeth. It can rub against your teeth scraping off the enamel. Also, think about the fact that you have a hole in your tongue in which when you don't have the ring in things may take its place i.e. food. In some rare occurrences, your tongue may become infected; a friend of mine got a tongue ring and it split her tongue in half, she now has a forked tongue.

I think its one of the dumbest things anyone can do to themselves. Ears pierced...ok, but I think piercing any other part of the body, including the belly button just shows some immaturity.

If you have to ask - don't.

I have had my eyebrow, belly button, ears, and tongue peirced... my tongue piercing was the shortest lived of them all. When people see tongue piercing's they think "hooker". It will crack your teeth and give off a bad impression (think porn star with low morals). I would suggest eyebrow before tongue. My eyebrow was by far my favorite, just get a small gauge with a little amount of spacing (barbell with little to no space between the skin and the ball). Now that is hot.

Don't do it. A good friend of mine has a huge bump that developed on his tongue. He doesn't have the piercing anymore but the bump is noticeable whenever he talks. It seemed like a good idea to him at the time. Now he works an office job and looks goofy.

tongue piercings are VERY likely to get infected (because of it being in your mouth), so they are the worst piercings to get

they also make some people talk funny, and many people "play" with them (e.g. roll them around in their mouth), which is distracting
