INJURED LEG HELP!!!! What therapy is best???!

Question: I don't know exactly how I did it but when I was frantically stretching just before I was about to compete in a dance competition, I pulled something in my right leg in the back of the upper portion and it hurt! I'm a dancer and I need that leg to become flexible again. I hurt it around June 2007. I have been stretching it since then and it has improved a lot. But I feel at this point I need some sort of therapy to heal it quicker. When I stretch my leg up to the side of my body, it feels fine but when I stretch it in front of my body, it hurts :S This used to be my better leg. Any ideas on proper care and therapy? It's been far too long!!! Thanks :)

See a Physiotherapist and they can check to see if you have tight hamstrings, then work on the realigning of the muscle groups to give you back the flexibility. Good Luck

I'm guessing you pulled or even tore your hamstring or gluteus maximus (*** muscle) I wouldn't recommend stretching frantically anymore, stretch easily and slowly, it takes longer but is more effective in the long run!!! Try relaxing your muscles before and after work out with first a really hot shower then immediately a cold shower in the strained area!! This causes the muscle to push out any lactic acid before and after you do your excercise!! It's safer than stretching frantically!!
Best of luck
