How to make needle shots painless?!
Question: Im needlephobic (if that even exist) anyways... Im really scared of anything painful. I have to take the maningitus shot soon and I'm wondering how I can make it painless? Any EFFECTIVE tips that's garunteed to work? And does this shot hurt?

along with 4 others, including a tetnus shot.
i know, this may sound gross
however, it helps. to be honest with you, menigitis shot hurts a tiny bit more then a regular shot.
you need to relax your arm.
like major. cause it makes it easier for the needle to go in and deposit the medicine. thats what i did, and im a tiny bit sore thats all
also, ask them if they can numb it for ya. theyll do it.
think: what would u rather have the needle, or menigits which kills people?

Don't look. I am terrified of needles but because I have a spine injury I have had to get poked for several years and the best advice: Don't look and think of a nice warm beach for the split second it takes to get the shot.
In the hospital we use Emla cream on kids who are scared of shots - you put the cream on the skin about half an hour or so before the shot and it numbs the skin... ask your doctor about it or see if you can buy it online...
Rub a numbing cream on it there any many types over the counter, believe it or not the same stuff you use for a cold sore or for a toothache will work on the skin it will do the same thing make it numb I mean temporarily numb for a few seconds only, or have the doctor use a spray that comes in liquid form then he/she shoots you and its very cold, like rubbing ice on your skin for awhile, the pain from the actual medicine is not normally painful BUT everybody is different, mind over matter really does work, bring your I POD if you have it and don't think about . Nothing in this world is guaranteed but thinking it's no big deal will work, just look away if the site of the needle bothers you.
