I feel really gross right now, help?!


Question: Hey there, so I know I'm sick or something, My throat hurts, I have kind of a 'dry' hacking cough, we went to the dr yesterday, I don't have strep, just a sore throat they said to make sure I get lots of liquids in, and so far i've been trying. I'm not stuffed up or anything, but i've been resting all day, and I just don't feel well, I had a bad headache earlier, today, too some advil. Just any advice on what I can do/eat/drink to make myself feel better?

Sounds like the beginning of a cold or flu. Usually a sore throat starts an illness.

Try some lemon tea, or anything warm. neo-citran helps ease a cough and lets you get some sleep. Make sure you can take neo citran, it's medication so..

Use salt and warm water to gurgle with so you can get the bacteria out of your throat. Purchase some halls or other throat lozenges.
get lots of sleep. drink lots of fluid. don't eat anything too heavy, it will hurt your throat more.

drink that chinese medicine. its black and syrup, i forgot what its called =P

i think some soup and a glass of cold water to stop further inflamation.

Just kick your shoes off and take it easy. Sleep a lot if you can and be sure to drink lots and lots of water.

drink 1/2 very hot water and 1/2 orange juice thru the day, tylenol alternate with advil every 3 hours should help (only one dose at the time though.

Rest, fluids, chicken soup... all the stuff that your mom told you when you were a little kid. Doesn't sound like anything serious, just keep an eye on it and if it doesn't get better after awhile, go back to the doc.

do: do something relaxing such as sleeping or watching a movie. Something that will help you forget about your problem and make the time go by faster.

Drink a lot of water, stay away form dairy products b/c they make your throat worse and you more sick.

Have a warm bath, i find that its the ultimate relaxation after a long workout or when i am sick.

Eat vitamins/salads so that your body has a better chance of healing because you are not depleted of any nutrients

First of all I would stay away from any acidic foods (OJ, oranges, tomato products), because these tend to mess up your digestive system if you are even a little sick. Your Doc was right when he said to take in liquids. That is the most important thing because it will help get whatever is messing you up out. If your throat hurts, just take some kind of pain meds because the less you mess with your throat the faster it will heal.

chicken soup and 7-up ,
gatorade is good too.. maybe sum lipton tea ,
or do what i do take sum nyquil go to sleep when u wake up youll feel good as new and you will be able to go to work fine :)
