Shoulder dislocation?!


Question: i was skating and i went to ollie down a small set of stairs and when i landed i slipped backwards... i felt my right arm jerk back and i felt it "pop" out of place... then when i landed on my back i felt it "pop" back in... it hurt ALOT!! O_O

i can hardly move my arm without lots of pain... just wondering how long will this take to heal? its been 1 day! =p

Yeah dude, if you don't want to get it checked out (which you should) stop skating for at least a couple weeks, not kidding. It's easier to pop out again within a few weeks after you dislocate it. Don't try to move your arm.

If a sling is not available, rig one by tying a long piece of cloth in a circle (a bed sheet or towel may do nicely). A pillow placed between the arm and body may also help support the injured shoulder. Over the counter antiinflammatory medications should help with the pain. The pain should last about 3-5 days as long as the joint is not aggravated by anything like over movement

Sounds to me like you may have done more than just "pop" it out of place. If it is still hurting by Monday, I would go to the doctor and get it xrayed. You could have a seperated AC joint or fractured humurus. Go get checked!
