How do I justify that I was not asleep while I was at work?!

Question: There was an instance (yesterday) that I passed out while I was at work, which I was not aware or conscious about whatsoever that happened around me (and the whole event felt as if it was a blink of an eye).

I was 'woken up' by my officer, with my whole body trembling/shaking and numb.

Several days earlier I was on medical leave (high fever, chronic flu) and I've been working 7-8 hours overtime straight through the clock (for about 3 days) and yes, I DO feel sleepy at times but at this point, I might be charged for sleeping at work (a major offence in my company).

Anyone willing to help me out in this situation?

Lemme get this straight: you just came off of medical leave where you were very ill. Right after that, you worked 3 days straight, double shifts, with little sleep.

You didn't fall asleep. You passed out because your body couldn't take the stress any longer.

By working 3 days straight with double shifts, you didn't give your body enough time to recover from the illness. Your body gave up. If your body was trembling and shaking when you were woken up, more than likely, you were in a deep sleep which would explain why the whole even seemed only seconds long.

Fess up and let your officer know that it wasn't intentional. You didn't realize that working double shifts right after an illness would have that effect especially if it's never happened before. Hopefully, he'll be understanding. If you are still working, then ask for a few days of normal shifts so that your body can get the sleep it needs before resuming overtime hours.

And the next time you are out due to an illness like the flu, don't allow yourself to work double shifts. Because even though you may be feeling well enough to go back to work, your body still needs a few extra days to recuperate and sleep allows your body to do just that.

Good luck.

Get your doctor to write you a note that you was sick.

Or 'were' sick.

Bro, rubette7 is rite. ur body couldnt tahan.
