Answers: i take painkillers every 4 hrs without fail i have done for 4 yr would i have done much damage to my insides and how can i get off them for good

Two ways:

Find a pain management clinic in your area and have them help you get off the pain meds slowly,

or

Find a methadone clinic and go through the 14 day detox or get on a maintenance program and ween off slowly.

I have been through withdraws several times and these are the only 2 ways to get off the meds and have a chance of staying off.

Most people that try to get off them cold turkey don't succeed.

I have been in a pain management program for several years due to a spine injury. I have seen plenty of people ruin their lives abusing pain medications.

I am still on hydrocodone and oxycodone every day but I do not take more than directed and that seems to be the secret to taking pain meds for a chronic condition and not get into trouble with needing more and more.

If you think that you get sick after not taking one for 4 hours your problem is in your head not physical. I had a fracture neck causing nerve damage and I don't have to take meds every 4 hours.

Getting off them is no fun but either is getting a liver transplant.

Good for you for recognizing you have a problem and wanting to solve it. Good luck

oh my god , you must be a real pain in the bum. why on earth are you doing this to your body, you will be dying very young if you do not stop, seek medical help plz

To know how much damage you have done to your liver you need to have liver function testing done. Have your doctor order them for you. It is a simple blood test. Tell your physician you are addicted and have him prescribe you a non-narcotic pain reliever.

1st off what pain do you have.are you in pain or just take them.if you just take them you are indeed addicted.all pills are made from chemicals and chemicals never exited the body.they are there for the rest of your life and usually settle in the liver and brain.not a good thing.

ME TOO IF IM HONEST I BET MINE ARE STRAONGER IM ON TRAMADOL ...FANCY A SWAP ?

WELL YOU KNOW YOU DOING SOMETHING WRONG. I FEEL YOU NEED TO SEEK SOME HELP BECAUSE IT MIGHT BE A DEEPER ISSUE FOR THE REASON YOU ARE DOING THIS. THINK ABOUT IT YOU NOT JUST HURTING YOURSELF YOU ARE HURTING OTHERS AROUND YOU LIKE YOUR FAMILY. SEEK SOME HELP. GOD LOVES YOU

you need to cut down slowly-go up to every 5 hours add another hour every few days-or half the dose and wean yourself off them that way

you should stop with them or else you may die.

Take heart. In spite of what people say it is easily done. I don't know if your particular drug is Solpadeine (Soluble) but that is a very common culprit and very addictive. Also cocodamol.
Take weaning yourself off very gradually or you will get withdrawal symptoms. (You could be looking at months not weeks)
I suggest the Overcount website which will actually work out a schedule for you:

Help line Tuesdays 7pm - 10pm

yes im sorry to say this but it will lead to death if you carry on. seek medical advice. good luck
