Depending on the severity of the burn, it can sometimes take up to 24 hours for a minor burn to stop hurting. I will assume that you have let cool water run over the burn. At this point you'll need to take some paracetamol and ibuprofen (ok to be taken together as one is an anti-imflammatary and the other is used for localised pain) Then, either get an icepack, or if you dont have one, get a plastic bag and put some ice inside. Put some water in the bag with ice and tie it up. You can rest this on your hand whilst you get to sleep. If you have an icepack, wrap it in a teatowel and place on your fingers in a similar manner. By tomorrow the pain should have subsided and the cool water and ice will soothe any blistering that may occur.

Try aloe Vera or sooth-a-caine its a spray with Lidocaine and menthol in it for numbness buy it at local drug store or walmart

the only thing you can do is keep it cool...make sure its not in the way when you shower and some aloe vera is always great

You'd have to put ice on them immediately to control the burn. At this point you cannot do anything except to take medication that will alleviate the pain.

the last time i burned myself with coffee at work and an employee told me to put mustard on the burn, and the mustard took the pain away. But i dont think mustard would be a good idea if you have an open cut. If you wanna try to sleep, try thinking about something else besides the pain and maybe it can help you sleep.

keep your fingers submerged in cool water, it's the only thing that will keep your fingers from hurting.

Hi macnulet

I have found Ungvita to be best to heal burns quickly. It's fish oil and vitamin e applied topically.
It used to smell like fish but now it doesn't and when I was burnt I didn't care if I smelled fishy.

Good Luck
robert
