How does my arm fall asleep?!

Question: i just woke up few hours ago and my arm feels completely numb and i can't even move it. it feels like my arm was paralyzed and i had to use my other arm to shake it off. how does my arm fall completely asleep?

you slept on it and no blood could circulate and maybe you were pinching a nerve....happens to everyone once in awhile....arms, feet, legs, fingers...any appendage
