Good exercizes to recover from a broken leg and ankle?!


Question: 15 years old and just got out of a cast which was on for 10 weeks. I can weightbear but my leg is still very weak, especially the calf muscle...any good exercizes to get fast muscle?

First I have to say, I can sympathize and I know it hurts, but it won't forever.
I broke my ankle and the exercises I did helped stretch out the tendons which were sore from being in a "fixed" position. Do foot rotations. Point and flex the foot and rotate it to the right 10 times and then left 10 times. This will flex the ankle and the calf. Also stand and raise up on tip toes 10 times each. This will stretch out the muscles and tendons and also strengthen your calf muscles.

I would start with something not as weightbearing like swimmig, or riding a bike. Both of these will help you regain muscle strength in your leg without being damaging.
