There is sadly no easy way. But it can be done. It took about 2 years for me until I got rid of the addiction-caused impulses.
Smoke from the other end of the stick once.
you could try the nicotine patches or gum, but a lot of people haev trouble with their hand being free rather than holding a cigarette. if you could find a way to replace it with something else, than can help. also, the average successful quitter has to try 4 times to stop smoking, so don't feel bad that it's hard.
Nothing will help you quite easily. It is an addiction. It needs a very tough and serious decision give it a serious try.

i know its an addiction, so it wouldn't be easy...but have you tried just telling yourself "no" everytime you think about doin it? i didnt have an "addiction" really, nor was it "bad", but i did that to stop a habit...took a while, but it ended up working...
