We're to conclude that it's better to be chronically and seriously ill and hope we die an early death than to tax the system by staying alive? Nonsense! We do, however, need to learn how to take care of the elderly population at lower cost. IMO most older people have too little to do other than visiting their doctor, asking for prescriptions and getting a lot of unnecessary testing, most of it just in case. Whe the quality of our life declines to the point that we need life support, that's the point where we should graciously call it quits.

Although, we do as a matter of fact need to stop developing healthcare that provides for +60s or 70s. It achieves nothing that is to the benefit of society...our health system is constantly strained, it always will be, and in no way should priority be given to elderly dependents.
