Sharp pains on my right side under rib cage shooting now to my back-?!

Question: I have been having really bad pains esp on my right side under my rib cage that shoots to my back. It will sometimes spread to my left side as well. I have been having heartburn along with it. I have already had my gallbladder removed so I know that is not it. What would be causing these pains? Sometimes feel like I am going to throw up as well.

Even after you have your gb removed you can still get stones. Also, you may have a stone blocking your bile duct. This happened to me and it was very painful. If you start getting jaundice symptoms ie. turning yellow, dark urine, itching skin, thats probably what happened. Go to the doctor either way, they will be able to run tests to help you figure it out, no matter what it is.

Maybe your appendix?? You should go to the doctor. That can be fatal if you wait to long. You may have developed a sist on your kidney or ovary. This would require a surgery to remove. Either way, you should see a doctor right away. If you do not have insurance, call the nearest hospital anyway and ask them to refer you to a clinic for people with low income, that cant afford health insurance. That clinic can apply you under the state, like Volunteers in Medicine. The clinic will be able to diagnose you.

Until you said you had your gallbladder removed that was my guess....It maybe intestinal, an ulcer.....see your doctor.

Even though you dont have a GB, you can still get "residual stones." This could also be an MI, pneumonia, bowel perforation, ulcer, etc. Please go see a doc

These will help far better than anything I could type. And it's information from medical professionals, not just anyone that has a computer and can type.

Try a pepsid or slug of pepto. Followed with as much water as you can stand-water is great for heartburn, also if you can stand it some bland rice or saltines. If no relief then time to call the doc. Take Care.

KIDNEY STONES! I've had them and sounds like you possibly have one as well.Go to the emergency room.

you probably need to go to the doctor you might have appendicitice

hope you fell better
