For people with fibromyalgia?!
Question: i was diagnosed yesterday...finally. i've been to the doctors countless times for ache after ache after ache and every time i was told "we don't know" or "it's a pulled muscle". my family and friends thought i was just a complainer for the attention! so finally after my diagnosis, i feel vindicated! did anyone else feel this? and also how do you deal with fibromyalgia? i've been prescribed flexeril (sp?) and motrin for now but is there anything else that may help? thanks in advance for you help! have a nice day everyone :-)

I've heard that vitamins B-6, B-12, and D help alot. Getting about 15-20 minutes of unprotected sun exposure twice a week was recommended as the best way to get vitamin D. Foods rich with these vitamins would be the next best for D and best for both B vitamins. I found this sublingual suppliment I have been taking for stress but I heard it's great for fibromyalgia too. I also seen this sublingual kind that starts off as a tablet that melts under your tounge. Sublingual means it goes under the tongue so that it goes straight into the blood streem instead of getting broken down in the digestive system. God Bless!
amitriptyline- although it is an anti depressant it can be used to treat pain. Maybe worth a go if what you are taking doesnt work.
I have been thru the same thing...years of aches and my husband accused me of just wanting to go to the doctor.I was just diagnosed with it about 2 weeks ago and when I read everything explaining fibromyalgia it all made sense to me and I was so glad. I'm taking morphine sulfate extended release and lortab for pain.
Oh come on. Your family thought you were a moaner. Now you have been diagnosed and are getting treatment you want to know if anything else works.
For goodness sake give the medication a chance or you will confirm your family's suspicions.
