My 5 year old has a severe toothache. any suggestions for pain relief?!

Question: i gave her tylenol. she hates anbesol/orajel. when i do manage to get some on her mouth, she spits it out, then wipes out her mouth with a paper towel. she didn't go to sleep till midnight, and now she's crying out in pain. i have to call the dentist back tomorrow, but what can i do in the meantime? we both need some sleep. this is the second night of this!!!

Do what our grandmother would have done.

Get some Brandy and a Q-tip, put some one it and rub it on her gums.

Dont let her know its brandy, dont want her telling her friends that mommy gave me booze.

It worked for us, might work for her.

Try Oil of Clove or Clove oil. You can get it at most drug stores or health food stores.

If you can find a drug store open there is an OTC medicine call Huracaine Gel that is very effective.

They make Oragel for kids.

You should be able to get it at any drug store or even places like Target.
