There is a specific x-ray view of the scaphoid. Ask the quack for a referral to an orthopedic doctor.

Ice pack and Tylenol.

go to your local pharmacy and purchase a rigid wrist splint/brace and wear it. This will keep your wrist in a natural position and prevent you from moving it. As for the pain ice for 15 min then off for 15 then back on for 15 more and continue to cycle back and forth for a few days
Also take Advil or Motrin or Aleve as these help reduce swelling as well as reduce pain.

Deformed, bruised means inflammation a normal reaction to a injury. If they x-rayed it then chances are it is not broken and count yourself lucky. Now you will have to wait until the bruising and inflammation vanish and that can takes weeks. Good Luck

go to a different er find an orthopedic dr and buy a splint for now they are like $10 if that
