I have to get an MRI on my knee..does it hurt?!

Question: does it???

Answers: does it???

The MRI itself does not hurt. If you are already in pain, it can be difficult to maintain the required position for the complete study. Depending on the facility and the machine, it can take upwards of 45 minutes to an hour. During that time, you must be totally still. Your leg is out straight from your body, and you are laying on your back. So, if that position is hard on your body, with your current injury, a MRI can be difficult. If you think about it, a dental x-ray doesn't hurt....but if you have a tooth that hurts and you have to hold the film in your mouth and bite on it, it can be painful. Best wishes to you!

Not at all. Hope everything turns out okay.

No. No pain. Just aggravating sitting still while it happens.
