Im going to urgent care what should I expect?!


Question: I horribly hurt my leg on Monday and it feels worse today I have to hop around and I limp somtimes and fall. It hurts to move it at all. I think it might be broken my mom is taking me to urgent care what should I expect?

They will probably take X-rays and go from there. If they have the means and it is broken they can set it for you there but if not you might have to go to the hospital.

A very long wait. I would bring a sandwhich or 3.

See a doctor.

A long wait, then a regular medical exam, X-rays and either a cast or instructions on how to care for your injury if it isn't broken. Probably a prescription for some meds and a bill.

Urgent care is basically the Emergency Room but the majority of Urgent care cases are not Life & Death care cases. You need some x-rays for sure. One, so the extent of the injury can be determined. Two, swelling is now also causing pain. And Three: waiting is only making the injury worse and more difficult to treat. You'll get x-rays, something for pain and care of the injury (or what we call a treatment plan). After that... a rehab and recovery program will be devised for your after injury healing process.
