What's happening with me? I've been having headaches everyday for almost!

Question: It started on Monday, and each day the headache worsens and throbs even more. I had one yesterday at school and it was worse than the one that I had the day before. And now I just woke up from a nap half an hour ago, and I have this extreme headache that is so much more painful than yesterday's!
I don't think its stress, because I've been procrastinating on my school work lately.
This headache thing doesnt seem to go away, is there something wrong with me? Please help? And I'm only 17, last year of high school.

Settle down. It's not cancer. Im a doctor here in sydney

It sounds to me as if you have a migraine.

Migraines are very common and usually happen because of a broken blood vessel in your head, kind of like a miny stroke but not as serious.

I reccomend to take a regular over-the counter pain killer that has codeine in it neurofen, panadeine etc. You may need to ask the chemist specifically for this.

If this is your first time then you probably didnt notice the symptoms. Usually before a migraine happens there is some visual disturbances and some sensitivity to light. Keep in mind these things and in the future you will be able to treat it before the pain hits.

If this doesnt work, try darkening your room. Close doors, curtins and make it dark and cool. An ice pack or cool compress on the head whilst you sleep can also help.

You just need to relax abnd give it time. Your body will heal itself, it knows what to do.

Good Luck

did u hit your head on something?!?!?! if I were you, i would go to the doctor...NOW!

it is probably nothing but an x-ray needs to be done as soon as possible

see a doctor

ARe you eating enough and drinking enough water. Being dehydrated will give you a constant headache. This is gonna sound weird, but if your urine is yellow, you are not drinking enough water. sodas won't help, water...

Could be migraines, go talk to your doctor.

Im pregnant- I have em every day. Dont know about you though....

that isn't good...and it isn't normal.
you should ask your doctor.

You should keep hydrated because sometimes people get dehydration head aches. Since you most likely don't have time to go to the doctor because you have school, and then they are closed on the weekends(most of the time) go to the school nurse if it happens during school.

Please go to the doctor, those are common symptoms of cancer of the brain.
I hope its otherwise, but please go to the doctor.
Don't get scared, it could be something else, but just to be sure.
Good luck

Tell your parents, take some headache pills, probably you have migraines, I get them too sometimes.
The best thing to do when it happens is to take some pills if you can, and try not to think about anything, try to relax.
However, it could be something much more extreme, so go to doctor if it still hurts for 3-4 days, especially if it gets worse.
Hope this helps!

It's called a migraine. No matter what you think, your body is probably stressed. It's your last semester of high school, you're procrastinating on your schoolwork, and you're probably waiting for college acceptance/rejection letters. This is a lot going on. Try to slow down and realize that everything will be okay in the end.

Headaches can be tricky. Here are some common reasons for frequent headaches:

a change in vision- have you seen an eye doctor lately
a change in hormones- are you close to your period
blood pressure problems
water retention
stress
DEHYDRATION! Be sure to drink LOTS Of water

Headaches can be severe and if you are getting them on a regular basis, you need to be seen by a doctor to find the cause.

Good luck

Where are you in your cycle? Sometimes women get headaches or migraines right before their period. It could be that. On the other hand it could be sinus related. I get headaches sometimes before getting a cold or even a sinus infection for that matter. If you start getting a sore throat on post nasal then you will know why you had the headaches. Lastly, when was the last time you had your vision checked? Best of luck to you, and i hope you feel better soon.

It could be from either you may need to go and have your eyes checked because you may not notice but when you strain your eyes it can give you killer headaches. This is just a suggestion because this is how i found out i needed glasses.

Maybe you are getting migraines. I've had migraines for about eight years now. I'm 16. When I was younger, they were really bad and i'd get sick (throw up). My migraines are throbbing and are very sharp and occur often. Sometimes they're in the corner of my forehead or at the back of my head. My migraines get worse when I'm moving around and make me sensitive to noise and light. The best way for me to get rid of them is to take my prescription medicine and go to sleep. Sleep helps because the medicine takes about two hours to kick in. If I do not take my medicine, the migraines will last all day and keep reoccuring. The other day, I had a migraine at night, and it went away, but when I woke up the next day, it was back. My migraines are pretty intolerable and keep me immobile. If you think you have migraines you should go see a doctor, because they can indicate a brain tumor or something of that sort. Even if you don't think you have migraines, I still suggest you see a doctor, because it isn't normal. A doctor could help you figure out the cause, and possibly give you medicine or tips to treat it. (Oh, and not eating and being dehydrated can also cause headaches.) Being in a hot room or having a long noisy day at school usually triggers mine. Hope this helped.

It could be a migraine. i don't know though. i'm 15 and the same thing happens to me everyday within the last hour or two of school I get a headache. i just take some tylenol, sometimes it doesn't help though. It just happens I think. It could just be stress, or that you may be really tired, haven't had enough food or possibly haven't had much healthy food.

it might be that you need glasses/contacts.
go see about that.

i had this same problem an it was because i had bad vision..

I am only 23 and get migraines during my period for a lack of estrogen in my body. All women go through this during that time so check with your doctor about your hormones and how to control the headaches. Also, check online for menstruation migraines. Lots of women get them. P.S> Aleve helps me. Good luck!

I'm a migraine sufferer and that sounds like what you are having. I have menstrual migraines as well. Actually, that is when mine are the worst.

Excess of heat in your body is your problem.
Pl drink one to half litre water early in the morning. Try raw sprouted food if good hunger. At least avoid spices.

Pl try cold water bath.
Massage is good thing, pl try.
Pl try simple acupressure given below for immediate relief.
If it fails you will have to go for Acupuncture.

There is hardly any medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for RA, OA, Back ache, Ear ache/ringing and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.

Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES, Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes.
None of them can be treated with medicine.
Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.

Acupuncture is the best treatment.
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.

Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more.

Avoid late sleeping if possible; worry, tension, spicy foods, sour fruits, stale bakery foods, SMOKING and alcohole.

Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help if cough is not there.

But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it is very strong.

If it is acute pl search a painful point (with round tipped pen/jimmy) 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

For forehead/eye pain the points are in front of nails on the finger tips or 3-7 mm below.

It may disappear naturally too.
