My right arm is kind of numb and tingly...?!

Question: This is really strange and has never happened to me before. I'm in Ireland right now, in my apartment, and it's about 3:45 in the morning. I wasn't able to get to sleep, I kept tossing and turning, then my right arm felt like it fell asleep. I switched positions, but the tingling wouldn't stop. I got up and moved around, and it still wouldn't stop!

I've been sitting at my desk for a half hour now, at the computer, and it's still tingly and kind of numb! Nothing like this has ever happened before...I'm 22 years old and in good health but this is scaring me! Might I be having an anxiety attack because I'm living abroad in a foreign country or could it be something worse?

I'm really afraid because I have no family or anything out here; I'm basically by myself other than my apartment suitemates.

For the record, nothing else is numb or out-of-whack on my body except my right arm, which is numb/tingly from my fingers to my upper arm. What's happening?!

sounds like a blood clot or pinched nerve. Take 2 aspirin now (to thin your blood) and see if that helps any. Aspirin is the most important thing to take if you are having clots. Please discontinue any birth control pills if you are on them because that is a leading cause of clots. If it doesn't go away after that see a dr.

Laying on it before could have pinched an vein or something. Stretch it out to reset all the muscles veins and other things that could have slipped out of place. If it remains numb for more than an hour you might want to contact a doctor incase of blood clots or nerve disorders.

Don't panic and scare yourself hun. Just call a doc. Which country are u in?

Call 999 if you are in the UK

You need to get to the hospital, you could be having a stroke, that is one of the main symptoms.

if it is ur right arm you should be ok, just a pinched nerve or lack of bloodflow for long enough that it will take a while to come back.. left arm could be a problem, but if it doesn't spread to ur whole right side within 10 mins of when it started it would be a stroke either.. you should be fine.. happens all the time

I had the same problem when i would play games on my computer and would rest my elbow on the table it caused my arm to tingle and twitch off and on for a couple of weeks. some said it could be carpatunel, or pressure point or nerve having pressure on it, mine stopped after a couple of weeks, i had to stop bearing weight on my elbow.

Perhaps you could call the emergency room and ask to talk to a nurse and mabe she or he can advice you of what it may be.They will let you know if they think you need to come in.Good Luck

Don't mean to scare you, But go to see a cardiologist, ASAP.
This can be a symptom of a heart condition,
Cheers
Michelle
