Please help!!! my very elder smoking neighbors can't seem to be quiting this!
Question: I live in the second floor of a 4 apartment building in a big apartment complex.
My downstairs neighbor and husband smoke non stop all day. They are old, I mean by that that they are retired so spend ALL DAY in their apartment smoking. So is a 24 hour , 7 day a week thing. She was smoking in the lobby, so the smoke was worse before.
It seems now they are only smoking in their apartment, but my problem is that MY ENTIRE apartment smells as somebody was smoking inside of MY apartment.
This is getting ridiculous. My things, my clothes, my books, my food smells and has that (non very appealing) cigarrette smell...
Please help, what can I do besides moving (i cant afford it right now) , candles ( I burn candles but doesnt work), air refreshener (doesnt work that well)
I spend fortunes in candles and air refreshners, but it doesnt work well.. .
Is there any device to help me with this, has there been any invention to help this?

go take there cigs and hide em lol
Ask them to stop. Tell them that they would die early with lung cancer. Tell them to stop and stay healthy. My dad smokes too. I know one way to get the smell out. You can just keep changing or just tell them to stop.

Smoke smell sticks to everything and is nearley impossible to get out, i think the only thing that you can really do is talk your landlord or whoever is in charge of the building, maybe the maintaince person can block the ducts that you are obviously sharing with the nieghbors, depending on what state you live in there are restrictions now on smoking in buildings with ventalation systems that are all interlinked.
Talk to your landlord and see if he could ask them. If not, your kinda stuck. They're smoking in the privacy of their own apartment.
Move out.
Well it seems that the smoke is seeping it's way up into your place somehow. Check your floor and try to find a treatment to seal it better to keep the smoke down below you.
(Maybe a type of wax, caulk, grout, tape or something?)
There has to be some chemical out there that can help you.
Go to the Home Depot. They have 10 gajillion things and you may find exactly what you need. Tell them your problem and the type of floor you have and I'm sure they can help.
