Omg, how can I get this muscle spasm to go away?!

Question: Melonie, where is the spasm at? Location? sometimes makes a difference in how to relieve it. drink water to make sure it is not from dehydration, lack of a chemical to the muscle is what causes a muscle spasm. If a heat compress doesn't work, or trying to massage it out, or if you have medication to take for it, then a topical gel for arthritis like therma care patches or ben-gay (ex.) will help some too. If it is in your back, you can take a soft tennis ball and lean against the wall and roll the ball around your back to work it out, learned that in physical therapy. Hot water works, a hot tub, or warm bath, or hot shower, will help relieve tension. A heating pad on low setting.Trying to just relax and use bio-feedback helps too, if it is caused by tensions. If it is a trigger point, ask your doctor about steroids in that area (back and neck only). Water and warmth should do it though. Good luck!

don't move the area of spasm, massage the area gently till it goes away.

there are a few ways to stop muscle spasms. You can go the natural route and put a warm compress ( hot water bottle, wrapped in a towel ) onto the muscle. leave on for around 5 mins and then very gently massage the spot. Do this about 3-4 times. You could rub in the type of stuff that sports people use to warm up muscles but the best way i found was to take a valium or similar muscle relaxant.....good luck

I have them in my upper back and either take a hot shower
and or use a heating pad to that area.
if this doesn' t help go to the dr
and he may give you a muscle relaxer.
good luck and sorry you are having pain
