your problem will be with your handbrake etc...i had the same op back in December 2005. I had the op on 15/12, and my wrist was in a cast for 5 weeks...started driving again middle of february
its best not to push things too quickly, because you can actually do more damage, so try and be patient.

it will probably be until you get your stitches out...unless you have someone to shift for you. when my mom had her carpal tunnel surgery i shifted the gears for her.
if you want it to heal , a month or so.
Your doctor does. He probably told you. If not, ask.
ive also had carpel tunnel syndrome and had the op i wasnt able to drive for about 3 weeks to a month.....
at least u wont b in pain anymore....
