Omg what am i supposed to do now?!
Question: ok so my little sister (12) told me she's been snorting things and she said she came across a white powder and wanted to know what cocaine was like and how it'd make her feel how do i know if she tried the cocaine or if it was just another white powder?! i appreciate her comin to me and tellin me this but is there a way i can tell if it's cocaine or not? she handed it to me in a little container and told me to find out what it is?!

You can get test kits at some major chain pharmacies that will give you the chemical reaction in color if it's cocaine (the same ones the police department uses). I believe opiates turn pink and cocaine turns blue...I can't remember but they're very accurate. If it's not a narcotic or amphetamine, there won't be a color reaction.
The kits are about 20 bucks.
Kick her a** and tell her to wait to decide if she wants to do drugs when she's older. I'm a drug legalization advocate, but 12 is WAAAYYY too young to be trying stuff like that.
Edit: I wouldn't tell your parents. Apparently she has a confidence in you and could come to you with far worse problems later and you want that line of communication open with her. It could save her life.
That is good your lil sister came to you now you need to be the big sister and tell your parents. This could get very bad and addicted to her and anything could happen This could be something that can kill her and you are the only one that know about her situation so if anything happen to her You will have guilt on your concious for the rest of your life. Throw it out instead of trying to figure out what it could be.
you can snort other things such as crushed up pills
but its most likely she was snorting coke
if you rub it on your lips or gumb itll make it feel numb

Wow, tough situation to be put in. I would tell her that she has X amount of time to tell your parents that she has been snorting things or else you will. It sucks to have to do this but it could save her life. As far as the white powder, it should go to the parents after she (or you) tell the parents.
just put yr finger in it, put it in your mouth (tounge cheeks) and if it makes it numb, its coke. only way to know for sure
