Whats wrong with my tonsil? please help :(?!
Question: this is a really wierd thing I have. lately I've been feeling like my throat is closing up and I can't breathe very well, then it felt like something was stuck in my throat. so I finally started looking at my tonsils and it looks like my left one has collapsed!! :( its like hanging down in my throat and is really flat. the other one is just fine. I can actually feel it in my throat and its making me gag. I called my dr and they said to go to the ER or an insta care, however I don't have insurance and my dr can see me for really cheap but I can't get in till wednesday morning, so I'm still alive and breathing, just having issues, I just don't know what caused this and I'm worried. has anyone ever experienced this or know about it? I've never heard of it so its so strange to me. Its not strep or anything like that.

I had the very same symptoms that you are havings, i finally had to have my tonsils removed in my mid 30's which was painful but in the long run was so much better, no more sore throats, and feeling like my throat was closing off, i will tell you a temp helpful remedy which will help, That is to drink hot fluids, like hot chocolate, hot tea, ect, As you are sipping it and it goes down your throat, it opens the area and slowly disolves the mucus that clings to your tonsils and throat, and by drinking the hot fluids it will shrink your tonsils ever so slightly, and last but not least, take 2 teaspoons of salt in 6 oz of warm water and gargle with it for about 20-30 seconds, repeat every 6 hours as needed,

i hate to say it but if you are not in much pain you may have to wait till wednesday but it seems like your doctor would see you immediately if you were in pain.
Does it hurt. If its does, it could be strep throat. You need an antibiotic for this. Tonsils also enlarge when your immune system is fighting a virus. Either way you don't have to go to the emergency room. Go to a medical clinic a lot cheaper.
