Back pain at night...any suggestions?!

Question: My lower back has been hurting me at night for several weeks, and I can only comfortably sleep on my side. I t doesn't really bother me during the day, only when I am trying to sleep. I was thinking of getting one of those memory foam mattress covers. Does anyone have one, and if so how do they like it? Or does anyone have any other suggestions (besides getting a new mattress)? Please, no stupid or smart-*** answers. Thank you!!

I don't think i would get a memory foam topper just yet i have tried it but not sure if it is working i have tried some other things that seem to work you should just try my dr told me to sleep on a wedge pillow with a memory foam pillow on top and that has been helping alot also if you can't sleep on you back wich is hard for me get a body pillow she told me to never sleep on my stomach use the pillow to lean on so you arn't flat on your stomach that makes it worse and you need to sleep another thing is a pillow under your knees if you sleep on your back and heat is always good i bought a heated throw and lay it on the bed at night that works great and you don't have to worry about burning yourself you control the temp well i hope this helps anything else you can message me if you want

It is really a shame people, have to get on this site and show their immaturity and stupidity, I agree with you!! Ruins it for everyone else, to answer your question, back pain can be a number of things, probably it is back strain, lower lumber pain usually indicates some disc problems, or even bone spurs, but also could be kidney involvement , muscle or soft tissue strain, both my daughter and her husband went thru buying different type of mattress' to end up going into an orthopedic Dr. and being told they both had a bulging disc, both got a shot and were told no straining or lifting for eight months and it would eventually heal itself,my daughters did heal, my son-in-law ended up with surgery, before you spend the money, have a professional find out what the root of the problem is, if you can adjust your daytme lifestyle it may help your night time sleep.

HIya
Nooooo don't get one of those mattresses will only make it worse..............honest i've tried them as I have two prolapsed discs and the thing damn near killed me lol.

What I find really helps my lower back is something called "Relief Extra" Magnet Patches they are really great and I'd be lost without them.

I'll go and look for a link and retype it in after for you!

Actually i've just had a look on ebay and there are loads on there go have a look they are really worth it!

Depending on where you live you can actually buy them from Lloyds chemist and you can get a pack of 12 for
