Heavy swelling on my knee after arthroscopic surgery?!


Question: four days ago I had arthroscopic surgery on my knee with four incisions points punctured inside.i also have stitches.
I am wondering how long will this agony of swelling last?is blood inside?i cant band my knee properly.should I be concerned?am I allowed to go outside for shopping and stuff?

the swelling will last for a while. for me it took 3 weeks, but it varies from person to person. it is normal to not being able to bend your knee properly at first. don't worry, the range of motion will come back. yes, you can go shopping, just be careful and don't overdo yourself and bump back the recovery process. rest when you need to. in the mean time, to keep swelling donw, elevating and icing are the best things you can do right now. do what your doc says and DO NOT push yourself. i really hope you get to feeling better soon.
