If he had an ear infection it is possible that the ear drum has ruptured due to the fluid in the ear. When this happens it immediately relieves the pressure (like getting tubes) and the pain goes away. Most of the time the perforation heals on its own and never needs treatment. It can usually wait until office hours and isn't anything severe. But, most of the time in the ENT clinic where I was a nurse we would see the patient just to put the parent at ease. If it did rupture your child will probably need the ear suctioned and cleaned out -which isn't fun- so they can visualize the TM. Hope this puts your mind at ease for at least the night!

i think that it would be best if you took him in to the ER it would be the best thing to do becuse some times it can be verry bad but mabey just some thing

U need to take him to the er right away, it sounds like his ear drum has ruptured and this could lead to permanent deafness or significant loss of hearing if left untreated... If he isnt crying it probably is busted by now and it relieves alot of the pressure, please dont wait take him to the doctor now... dont forget to take the antibiotics with u to show him what he is on and any other meds he might have taken.. good luck and i hope your son gets better too...
