Loose cartilage?!

Question: When I walk for about 20mins I start to get a really sharp pain in my knee, sometimes it can get so bad I have to stop which can get very frustrating. When I straighten my leg the pain returns if I have just been walking, it both aches and gets a sharp pain. Could this be loose cartilage? I am 15, what are the symptoms of growing pains?

Cartilage should be treated as gold - go see someone and get it tested. Avoid open chain excercise (leg extension/kicking,etc) that will continue to produce shear. Pain is your body's way of telling you that you are stupid (or were stupid in my case).
