I had a very weak back after 2 c sections and I have been doing Pilate's with a certified teacher and it has worked wonders because it strengthens the entire core. I also do yoga which has really helped with posture etc. make sure you tell whatever teacher you work with so they can make sure not to further injure you. PT is great for some, I didn;t care for it, but now, 20 years later, if I get lazy and stop, and my back starts to hurt again, I just go back to it. make sure in the meantime to cut out super high heels as they tend to make us sway backed and that puts extra pressure on the lower back. also, you might consider a chiropractor. good luck

Tell your doctor that you want four weeks of physical therapy 3x a week. You will be amazed at how much better you will feel. Also take a walk every day as that also strengthens the muscles. I have ducked back surgery twice with the aid of physical therapy and walking 40 minutes a day. Lower back pain is the most common injury there is. I have a herniated disc, myself. An exercise program is the best thing for a back. Also, when you sleep, if you sleep on your side, put a pillow between your legs with your knees bent and another pillow just behind your back to give it some support. Also ask your doctor if you can take 4 ibuprofen instead of 2 when you are in a lot of pain.

are your breasts too big? if they are, that could be the problem

The reason why people have bad back is because they have weak backs. As teenagers we spend much of our time 'slouched' in front of the TV, PC, if not 'haunched' over the desk at school. That is about all the exercise our back get! Therefore we grow up, some go to College, University, more slouching, haunching, some go to work, more sloughing, haunching. Then we go to the Bar, yep more slouching, haunching. By the time we hit the early 30's when the discs start to dehydrate we start to feel pain. DDD or Degenerative Disc Disease is not a disease but part of the normal aging process. So we are entering this normal phase of life, unfit to tackle it. Akin to running a Marathon on four hours of Gym work and a take away meal! Only then do we sit up and scream OUCH! Now the problem is the muscles that hold the bones in place, just like scaffolding around a building are weak, so the bones glide over here, ice skate over their and we go OUCH! We need to address the underlying cause and that is we have unwittingly allowed all the muscles or scaffolding to fall apart. If we did this at a Building Site we would end up in Court, due to Health and Safety laws, but we do it to ourselves. Therefore you need to take up a good exercise program, something like Pilate's, which will concentrate on the core instabilities and eventually rebuild the scaffolding. Best of Luck
