try some gentle stretching exercises. Also rub and press the sore area gently. If u can use some olive oil (slightly warmed) then that should help. Take painkillers such as ibuprofen or even paracetamol to ease the pain...and then try to walk as normal as possible. the more u maintain normal movement, the quicker it will heal. If u can get some Arnica tablets from homoeopathic section in Boots or another health shop...or even some arnica gel...rub that on. Arnica heals bruising and muscle pain naturally.
Also u could try alternating hot and cold treatment. Put a heat pack on for few minutes, then put something frozen on for a few minutes, keep changing from hot to cold...that should help
Hope its better soon.

Lift your foot up towards your shin as this stretches the calf muscle. Otherwise a massage or hot bath would help. You could try somthing like deep heat or ibruprofen gel if its really that painful. What on earth were you doing?!!!

If you excersize you're calf bit by bit, you're muscle will actually improve after so long excersizing it.

Warm packs will help by increasing the circulation which promotes faster healing. Slowly stretching will be OK but stop if the pain increases. That indicates you are undoing the healing that is taking place.

Sounds like it's probably torn.
Give it plenty of rest for the first 10 days or so after the injury. Try to avoid over extending it during this period as this might worsen the tear. Make sure you're eating well, plenty or protien, vitamins and minerals.

After two weeks or so, gradually... >and I mean gra-du-ally!< build up the amount of use. Keep a good awareness of the level of discomfort. A dull stretching sensation is okay. Anything sharp and tingly, ease up immediately.

Try to cut down on the limping and work through the discomfort otherwise you run the risk of muscle atrophy and other attendant problems.

Ordinarily, a good recovery schedule for a tear is in the order of 6 weeks to 2 months. Good diet and physio will help it along, but it just takes time.

Good luck.
