My elbow hurts. What should I do about it? More info below.?!

Question: Im a Highschool pitcher for my schools baseball team. Im 6'3 about 195lbs. I throw with my right arm. It hurts right near the joint. I know it must be a tendon or something but im not sure. I have takin physical therapy but it didnt help. It hurts when i open my hand wide. It also hurts when I extend it while I throw. Can anyone give me a diagnosis and sopme treatment ideas? I use therabands and stuff but it still hurts like a *****. I have to be on my game this year to get scouted so I really want to be healthy. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Are you sure that you didn't just over-extend it? If not and it has been a constant battle for you it could very easily be a tendon, which i do not think that you can correct without surgery. Because you use it so much it could be what I have. Not sure of the name, but it is actually a nerve that runs down the length of your arm from elbow to hand. I am a stylist and my right elbow is unbearable sometimes. I originally thought mine was a tendon also. Mine is nerve damage from overuse, sound familiar? Do this test...If you take your other hand and take your thumb and pointer finger and squeeze pretty tight around the muscle right below your elbow. Then try extending your arm and see if you can still feel the pain. Also make a fist and see if it helps there also. If so it is a nerve. I wear something around that muscle that puts pressure on that muscle where I dont feel it. Called an "air cast" Let me know how u do, Good luck

For a diagnosis, you're going to have to see a doctor. If you're doing physical therapy, I hope it was RXed by a doctor and not your coach.

You might try the simple things like not using it for sports until the injury heals, ibuprofen to get down the swelling and a heating pad. Some people say ice is better and some say heat.

You might also try a muscle rub. If you're in the U.S. there's something called sports cream that doesn't smell so horrible that they smell you before you walk into the room,
