Has anyon ever seen this happen to a child when recovering from a surgery?!

Question: My 6 year old has had many surgeries, when in recovery this last time she was very cranky waking up (that was normal) but she started crying that her arms were hurting and when i looked her hands and finger were drawing up like someones hands do when they have cerebral palsey or something. I started rubbing her hands and arms. It lasted for about 8-10 min. at least no one gave me a straight answer to what happened. I ordered her charts to see what they put her under with that day. But i still have no clue what happened to her, and she will have another surgery coming up soon, I'm scared for her. I don't know what i'd do if something happened to her.

hi it could be medication that was given during the op. Sometimes a drug is given to paralyse the muscles, which wears off quite quickly after.....It could possibly still be a bit of this drug in the system still, depending how soon you were in the recovery after the operation..I'm not a surgeon or anaesthetist, but I did use to work in theatre. Speak to anaesthetist next time you go in, to find out why.

It may have just been like gas. I know when I had surgery I pain in my arm and it so badly and they said it was just like air or gas in there.
