How do you stop the pain of trapped wind? Dont want cheap jokes im in pain today!

Question: peppermint capsules are good - available from health food shops (and Boots I think). Windeeze from chemists are good, I've tried Deflatine but never had good results from them

I also find that sitting up really straight helps - sounds stupid, but I think it gets things "moving" more that slouching!

also a hot bath helps sometimes

I feel your pain!!!

I feel your pain!!!

Take some Rennie's

mints or windezze

but if mints get the powdery ones not the ones that are hard or shiny,

Take some painkillers and some windeze, stretch and it should pass.

have a strong mint

You havent lost your Mobile Phone by any chance have you ?

do some excerise
i no you dont feel like it but it works and releases it!!!!

Drink some very hot PLAIN water. It will release the gas. Trust me.

you can buy something called windeeze from the chemist

I heard peppermint tea is great!

If i ever have really bad trapped wind i throw myself over my dads legs and get him to rub my back and my tummy - and i'm 23 now :P

I don't know if you have a girlfriend or something to do it for you?

If not just try doing movements that bring your knees up towards your chest - squats or lunges and it should shake it loose.

Chew Rennies/Deflatine for a while.

Lots of good advice here already, but what works for my hubby the best is peppermint and to lie on his tummy while I rub his back. Works good for colicky babies too!!!

Let it all out .. just relax. If it doesn't work, try and force it out. If that doesn't work, take some senakot. You may be constipated. Two senakot tablets works magic.

I know - people always laugh but it can really hurt. I find that Windeze really works, and also charcoal tablets which you can get from Boots or your local health food shop.

Change position. You're trying to get something like those little balls in the plastic maze games. The gas will tend to go up, so getting your bum in the air helps it move along in the right direction.

If the pain doesn't resolve or move in 2-3 hours, or really painful wind happens often, it might be something else; then I'd see a doctor. If you know it always happens due to certain foods, though, there are enzyme products like Beano you can take, or eat yogurt with live cultures to make your stomach bacteria more balanced.

The best thing to do is lie flat on your back and massage your stomach gently in small circlar motions and it will start to release it. I suffer with IBS and trapped wind is very painful and I find it works. Peppermint tea also helps.

peppermint oil capsules are great and also peppermint tea for after meals helps with digestion.

I often get trapped wind and its very uncomfortable my dietician recommended that i lie on my front on the floor with my butt in the air as if I was looking for something under the sofa and I found it helps. also keep moving as exercise should help shift it.

go for a walk to get things moving.
