Zovirax or putting vinegar on it works for me, if you use vinegar it will sting a bit when you first put it on but it will dry the coldsore out.

Abreva works well but nothing is an instant cure. You'll have it for a week no matter what but Abreva can reduce it and make it heal faster. It's about $7 in the pharmacy and it's over the counter not a prescription
