The following breathing exercise may help:
Lay comfortably breath in deep filling your lungs all the way till your abdomen rises counting to 4, hold the full breath counting to 7, release the breath slowly counting to 8. Be sure to get all the air out by drawing in your abdomen. Do this 3 times and repeat if necessary. This technique can also be used to rejuvenate you when necessary.

think of stuff that bores you

just clear your mind and dont think of your day. i try to look as far into the darkness as i can and before you know it your asleep.

i too have this problem except I am little.. hahaha a lot older than you. first if your having caffine in the evening stop drinking it and if you dont try maybe a glass of warm tea or warm milk whichever you prefer.. I have heard both of these help.

There is this sleeping pillow mist spray and this bubble bath stuff, and it works great!
It relaxes you to sleep, expecially the bubble bath stuff :)

It was proven from a doctor, and it works wonders!
I reccomend it a lot :)
But if you dont have the money right now to buy that, I suggest other things.
1. a Hot bath+the bubble dream bath stuff above
2. drink some warm milk
3. Lay down in bed blank out your mind, and say "I need to sleep"
4. Play some soft slow music (a low volume)
5. Meditate
6. They have sleeping tapes where a man or a woman they talk, and it puts you to sleep! I tried it once, it freaked me out, I was sleeping like a baby afterwards.
Thats all that I know by mind hun, those things i've tried and it helped me!
And also to get back on track, I reccomend this, but dont expect to pull through..
Stay up all day and all night, and go to bed the next day around 8:00 pm, and you should wake up real early the next day adn feel refreshed. Thats what I do all the time, and it helps me get back into sleeping right. Although its hard, and tiring, just pull through!

Before sleep

1. turn all the light softer (make the environment surrounding you darker). Your body will generate something that will make you sleep in the darker environment.

2. Don't watch movie or read books that make you excited or keep thinking.

3. play some sentimental music to prepare yourself for sleeping.

4. DON'T rely on medicine. You will get addicted.

5. Drink warm milk before sleep (but not effective to everyone).

just imagine you have no worries, no responsibilities, shut off every thought....
