I recommend paraffin therapy. Dipping your hurting hands in warm, melted paraffin (wax), and then putting on mittens -- it really helps with that dull, aching pain.
If you can afford it, you can get a paraffin "spa", which is a unit that you fill with paraffin and then warm it up when you need a dip. Very handy, and you can get one at the local drug store or on eBay.
GulfWax is sold in the supermarket, so you can use that for refilling your spa.
Good luck - my mom suffered from arthritis in her hands for many years and this helped her, too.
as you should know, the pain comes from the swelling of tissue/joints(relieve the pressure, reduce the pain)you can't always get rid of the pain completely, but you can make it more bearable-wearing gloves can help,so can soaking your hands in hot water, once you get the blood flowing again your joints become more mobile/agile,keep them moving by keeping active, get a hobby that forces you to manipulate things with your fingers/hands
Here are links to a few links I use for pain. Hope they help

I take an anti-inflammatory (Aleve) and try to keep them warm. I also have a parrafin spa and it is great for temporary relief. That's about all that can be done short of Steroids and they have some serious side effects.
