Go to the doctor, he'll do some knee tests and then give u a MRI. i tore my acl i know wat that feels like.

you would know its very painful your two caps would not be able to glide off each other and you would have an extremely hard time bending your knee
hurts like hell. swells up like a balloon. if you tore your cartilage you probably would have had it checked out as soon as you did it.
Torn cartilage = knee giving out, locking when legs are bent, swelling.
MRI will show soft tissue damage.
