Why is my bruise lasting for 6 months?!
Question: Help! I got a giant bruise on my thigh in September. Although faded tremendously, it is definitely still there & still painful if hit again or bumped. I do have a Dr. appointment in 2 weeks, but I'm starting to get nervous about it. Any ideas???? I've very serious about how long it has been! Thanks

Since you are seeing your doctor in two weeks, show him the bruise and explain your concerns.
If the bruise was as big as you say, I bet your thigh took a hard hit. You probably severely bruised the underlying muscles at that time, and some bruising takes along time to resolve, especially if it was really deep.
This is probably why it still hurts when you do further damage. I'm sure that if you can manage to avoid injuring it again it will disappear, but check with your doctor, because that will give you peace of mind.
If you are otherwise feeling fine, it's probably nothing to worry about.

My friend jumped on my foot (by accident) & completely bruised it. The buise lasted about 2 years, slowly fading. My doc said that it was blood trapped within my skin & will eventually disapper. It did, eventually.
This is gone on since Sept and you're worried about waiting another two weeks?
