I'm choking on a chip..>HELP!!!!?!
Question: i either swollowed a chip down the "wrong tube" or swollowed it too big, either way i'm choking! Nothing really but i can't get it to pass. ive coughed like crazy and can't talk now without coughing. i tried drinking. i feel like i'm going to vomit what else can i do to get it to pass!?!? HELP!

Whenever you get something caught in your throat, as long as you can breathe and drink water, the best thing to do is eat some bread. Not the crust part, the soft white part.
That will help capture whatever is stuck and move it down. This happens to me sometimes when I take my vitamins. They tend to get stuck like chalk to a wet surface. Water doesn't wash them down very well, but bread moves them right along.
Glad you're feeling better. Remember this trick and share it with others.
BUT IF YOU ARE TRULY CHOKING, DIAL 911. DON'T WAIT FOR ADVICE FROM YAHOO ANSWERS.

Go ahead and vomit. This is your bodies way of trying to get rid of the object stuck in your throut or you can try to eat bread. This may take the chip down with it.
Give it time.
Chances are the chip has scraped your throat a bit and causing irritation. This will settle down without needing to do anything.
You obviously are not too distressed if you are asking for help on yahoo answers. In the ER we have a saying "if you have time to complain, you are doing fine"
