How long does it take antibiotics to start working when you have a sinus infecti!

Question: Okay went to ER on Monday cause thought I was going to die after being sick for two weeks. Dr. said I had viral flu or cold with a bacteria sinus infection! I started taking the medications on Monday and now it's Wednesday. Should I feel better by now? It's a 5-day antibiotic treatment. Also, she gave me flonase and I just feel tired.

Shouldn't I feel better by now?

Thanks.

Give the med's a chance to get into your system. That usually takes about 2-3 doses in order for you to see some changes in how you feel. After a day or day and 1/2, you should start to feeling better. I do want to share with you a good warning: START EATING YOGURT. This will curb a chance of getting a yeast infection significantly.
Hope you feel better soon!

Within 12 - 24 hours

It's only been about 48 hours... They say 48 to 72 hours to begin to feel a little better. It should be soon and if you aren't better by Friday I'd call the doctor - you might need different anitbiotics.

just check the bottle they usually say when it will start to take effect

antibiotics take 3 days 2 even make u start feeling a little better....they'll work for the sinus infection but not the flu....thats what is still making u feel bad.drink plenty of fluids & that should help

Sorry you are ill. You should feel better by the weekend. Drink plenty of water to wash the germs out. Good luck.

The sinus infection might be better, but you probably still feel bad from the viral infection, which isn't helped by antibiotics. If you don't feel better by the end of the week, call your doc.

depends on what strength and type antibiotics he has given you, and with it only being a short course im guessing its a high dose so u should be feeling alittle better by now, but it differs from person to person, i wud wait till the end of your course and if you dont feel any better go back to your docs and get a second opinion. good luck xx

You should feel better unless youre just simply tired than thats normal

i would say go see your dr, you should feel better i would think

You've been sick for weeks. It is normal that you're body is taking time to heal. Once you are finished after the 5 days wait a day or 2. If you are still quite bad just call back to who prescibed the meds & ask for an additional couple of days worth. Your body may need it. Feel better.
