What do I do about this blister on my hand?!


Question: Yes.I was using a broom and after 40 min of sweeping( the one who got the biggest pile got 5 bucks)and I got a huge layer of skin scraped off my inbetween the thumb and pointer area.It is painful, and unfortunitely we have no bandaids.I need to shower, but it's so painful that I cried alot.I don't know wat to do.I want it to be better by morning.Please help!HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!!!!

Awwwww...that is painful indeed! I have had many of those over the years. Unfortunately there is little one can do to alleviate the first anguishing stinging pain IF the blister has already popped....the irritated raw skin below is a screaming at such point. And yes...water aggravates it intensely. However, IF the blister is still intact, then there is less pain especially when immersing in H2o...But if it's any consolation, once the initial burning pain passes, it does get better...eventually the blister begins to dry & thus healing begins. Be sure it is kept clean & avoid introducing infection by coating it with some vaseline if you haven't any OTC antibiotic, Neosporin,Triple B or other similar topical ointments or creams. By the way did you get the biggest pile & the $5?? Blister may have been worth it huh? Kudo's for you for showing such determination! Take care~
