i just had this same problem, and i went to the chiropractor and he said that my muscle tendons had snapped off of my illium, which is the large round part of your hip, and you need to see your chiropractor to confirm, but my doctor gave me a list of streches i must do twice a day, and before every volleyball game i play, and alternate ice and heat on it for 3-4 weeks so the tendons can heal, so they don't keep snapping off.
