What type of Doctor do I need to see for a knee injury?!
Question: I got in a car accident about 7 weeks ago. The dash board smashed into my legs. I had realy bad bruising, swelling & pain, but I thought I was fine. Now my knee is still hurting. Its fine while I am walking & sitting. But whenever I kneel or push against that knee, there is a very sharp pain. It feels like there is a broken bone stabbing me on the inside... ??? What type of doctor do I need to go see? I dont want to go to family practice b/c I will get sent to a specialist anyway. Thanks

An orthopedic doc... but most require a visit to your family practice doc first anyway. At least your primary doc can do an x-ray...
