I get pains in the heels after my daily morning brisk walking. Any answers for r!

Question: My GP recommended brisk walking for me and been doing so for the past 2 months, but any time after such morning walks my heels get really sore and cant walk properly for couple of hours. I really want to continue because my BP is so good as a result of it.

Do you have good walking shoes? Tennis shoes with good arch support are best for movement like this. It supports the feet best. Or do you have flat feet? It is when the feet seem to be level with the floor instead of having an arch in the middle. IF so, then you need a special shoe insert from a podiatrist. I would try soaking your feet in a warm foot bath after walking. This can help relax the feet. DO not do more than a 30 minute maxium walk at a brisk pace either each time you go. Try rubbing the soles of the feet gently after walking as well.

sounds like you need new shoes or more padding in your shoes...are you using walking shoes?...

It could be Planter's warts. My son had them, he said it was like walking on nails going into his heels. I had to take him to a podiatrist, who removed them easily.

you need a new pair of shoes, or at least different insoles. I suggest going to a shoe store and asking some one there to help you find a pair that will work the best for you. try a store that sells different brands because you'll find some brands don't fit as well as others will

do you have proper walking shoes/ jogging shoes? that is most likely your problem. also if you have caluses on the bottem of your feet they can add up to a problem. try getting soft insoles by "dr. scholes" or something similar. or rub your feet with a moisturizing lotion before/after your walk. rubbing your feet can help circulate blood and ease pain. hope this helps
